Built with zeb on AWS, the suite helps publishers and platforms verify content, reduce bias, moderate safely across markets, stay compliant, and get paid when AI companies use their journalism.

## At a glance

**MESA, AZ, October 12, 2026.** NewsGenie, the trust infrastructure company for publishers, platforms, and media organizations, today introduced its AI product suite, built to help news organizations earn back reader trust and manage the risk that comes with publishing today. The suite targets the four kinds of risk every news organization now carries: reputational, operational, financial, and regulatory. It runs on Amazon Web Services and was built with zeb, an AI-native AWS Premier Tier Partner.

- **4** — Kinds of risk addressed
- **67** — Bias types, 6 categories
- **~24** — Regulatory risk categories
- **3** — Issued patents

## The challenge

The news industry has had a trust problem for a long time, and AI has made it harder to manage. Readers question whether coverage is biased and whether the photos and video they see are real. Fake and AI-generated media is getting harder to spot. Publishers now carry risk on every side:

Many AI tools aimed at these problems are wrappers on general-purpose models that can't explain their decisions. For an industry built on credibility, that isn't good enough.

> Trust has always been fundamental to journalism, but AI is making it a whole lot harder for publishers to know what they can trust across the media supply chain. I come from cybersecurity, and I'm a trust-but-verify kind of guy, so I don't think another black-box LLM wrapper is the answer. That's why we build explainable AI. You want to know what bias we found, why a comment was moderated, where there's regulatory risk, whether breaking-news content has been vetted, what your content is worth, or who's authorized to use it? We can show you. And as newsrooms become more automated, I think the future is less about adding more AI and more about intelligently orchestrating all of it across the media supply chain, while giving publishers the transparency, protection, and control they need at every step.

## What makes NewsGenie different

NewsGenie's approach starts with its founder. Jeffrey Crump comes from a cybersecurity background, and he built the company on a security principle: trust, but verify. In a field where credibility is everything, NewsGenie treats trust the way security teams do, as something that has to be proven and checked at every step.

Crump saw the gap firsthand. The news industry was turning to AI to fix its trust problem, but the tools on the market were general-purpose wrappers that couldn't show their work, couldn't adapt to each country's rules, and couldn't stop content from being taken. Instead of waiting for someone else to solve it, he set out to build technology that verifies, explains, and enforces, so publishers can take back control of their content and their credibility.

That's why NewsGenie built its technology differently. Its models were developed with academic experts, and every result comes with categories, risk levels, and benchmarks, so an editor can see exactly why a story, comment, or bot was flagged. NewsGenie holds issued patents covering bias detection and mitigation, autonomous journalism, and comment moderation with adaptive trust. Each product can be licensed on its own, and together they work as one integrated flow from capture to verified, compliant, protected content.

The suite is designed to work alongside the content management systems publishers already use, not replace them.

> Let's use Coupra and CoupraMon as an example. Identifying and blocking bots at the network edge is incredibly valuable, but in cybersecurity you assume things are still going to get through. Then there's the last mile: enforcement. We're solving for that interior edge, where we can monitor behavior, identify unauthorized use, and actually enforce the terms of a content license from inside the publisher's environment. Our goal isn't to replace the leaders protecting the network edge; it's to partner with them and connect the network edge to the interior edge so publishers have end-to-end protection, control, and a real way to enforce how their content is used.

## The technology: Built with zeb on AWS

NewsGenie chose to build on AWS from day one, putting enterprise-grade, production-scale infrastructure in place before releasing a single product. Partnering closely with zeb on everything from product builds and production migration to security testing and managed services, NewsGenie combines AWS AI services with its own proprietary models.

Alongside the AWS AI services powering the suite, NewsGenie runs more than 35 additional AWS services across compute, networking, security, and operations, including Amazon ECS, AWS Lambda, Amazon CloudFront, AWS WAF, Amazon GuardDuty, and AWS Security Hub.

NewsGenie is building a 100% automated newsroom pipeline, where verification, bias detection, compliance checks, and content protection work together as one flow.

> We have a very robust, production-grade, at-scale infrastructure, and we built it for enterprise customers from day one, with strong partners like zeb and AWS behind us.

> NewsGenie is taking on one of the hardest problems in media, and they built for enterprise from day one to do it. We're proud to be their partner on AWS, building alongside their team to help publishers earn back the trust of their readers.

## From risk to revenue

Every one of those risks has an upside on the other side.

## Who it's for

The suite is built for publishers and platforms: anywhere news is produced or people talk to each other online. Every organization in that space carries some mix of reputational, operational, financial, and regulatory risk, and each NewsGenie product targets at least one of them.

> We're starting by giving publishers trust they can prove. Next, we'll connect these capabilities with agents and orchestration, so newsrooms can move faster without giving up control.

Publishers can start with the risk that matters most to them, whether that's bias, verification, moderation, compliance, or content licensing, and add more as they grow. Meet the NewsGenie team at FIPP World Media Congress in Madrid, October 13-15.
