The Origin Story
“No” to “yes” in 12 months.
How zeb won one of the most partner-resistant accounts in the AWS ISV portfolio — and turned a flat “no partner” position into the strategic relationship driving $20M+ in AWS ARR.
The Starting Position
When the AWS account team first raised the idea of a partner, the response from Precisely was a flat no.
Precisely had a large, highly capable internal engineering team with deeply embedded coding standards, architectural best practices, and a strong cultural identity around building things their way. An outside partner wasn’t just unwelcome — it was actively resisted. This wasn’t skepticism about any one partner. It was a philosophical resistance to the partner model itself.
The Three-Sided Pressure
Three pressures were converging on Precisely simultaneously — each pulling in a different direction, each compounding the others.
Internal
Partner-averse engineering culture
Experienced, opinionated engineers protecting quality and team autonomy. Products trusted by 99 of the Fortune 100 — an outside partner was seen as a risk, not an asset.
External · PE
Three PE firms pushing for speed
TA Associates, Centerbridge, and ClearLake Capital pressing leadership to SaaSify the product portfolio on AWS and embed AI to stay competitive — fast.
Competitive
Informatica acquired by Salesforce
Precisely’s largest competitor had embedded AI deeply across their platform and was now backed by Salesforce. The AI gap needed to close — or enterprise customers would defect.
The contradiction: high pressure to act, low tolerance for disruption. Most partners couldn’t have won this.
The 12-Month Path In
Trust wasn’t sold. It was built — over a year of patient advocacy, PE-level engagement, and multiple interview rounds.
A flat “no partner” position
AWS account team floats the idea of partner support. Precisely declines outright.
Six months of trust-building
AWS account team works patiently to shift Precisely’s position — not selling a partner, but building the case that a partner could add value without disrupting what they’d built. Charles Guo and Bhavin Desai on AWS PE BD engage directly with TA Associates, Centerbridge, and ClearLake to align the investor-level view.
The door opens — three-partner bake-off
Precisely agrees to entertain the conversation. Three partners invited into a structured interview process. zeb is one of them.
Multiple interview rounds, PE alignment
zeb goes through repeated rounds of technical interviews, leadership conversations, and direct engagement with the PE ownership teams — addressing every concern raised.
zeb selected.
The partnership begins. Everything that follows — migration, agents, POC, productization — flows from this foundation.
Why zeb won
Six reasons zeb beat the field. Two of them closed the deal.
Each one engineered to answer a specific concern Precisely had — but two reasons did the heaviest lifting.
The decisive move
Worked to Precisely’s standards.
Adopted Precisely’s coding standards, architecture, and engineering norms — not zeb’s. Operated through their MSA, not ours.
The concern it answered
A partner-averse engineering culture where coding standards, architecture, and team autonomy were non-negotiable.
→ Removed the single biggest cultural objection.
The decisive move
Deep expertise in migrations and AI.
One of very few partners who could credibly execute large-scale cloud migrations and build production-grade Agentic AI — simultaneously, with equal conviction and proof.
The concern it answered
Informatica acquired by Salesforce. AI gap widening. SaaSification and AI both needed — at speed, in parallel.
→ One partner for both strategic imperatives.
Speed without sacrificing quality
Demonstrated execution velocity backed by disciplined delivery — decisive in a PE-pressured environment.
Answered: PE pressure to move fast
Flexibility on paperwork & terms
Operated through Precisely’s MSA and legal framework. Reduced friction at every commercial layer.
Answered: Partner-averse commercial culture
Fixed-fee resource model
Cost predictability that was commercially attractive and easy to defend to PE ownership.
Answered: Defensible case for PE
AWS funding eligibility
MAP, VMCCO, ACDC, ATF — deep familiarity meant partial funding that reduced net cost and improved ROI.
Answered: Net cost pressure
The Foundation
The win wasn’t handed to zeb. It was earned — and everything that followed traces back to this foundation.

The Challenges
300%+ → $0
VMware licensing exit · 5,000+ VMs migrated
The Challenge
Broadcom's VMware licensing projected a 300%+ renewal increase across 5,000+ VMs globally — Precisely needed a scalable, low-risk exit.
Our Solution
AWS VMCCO funding paired with zeb's migration factory model. Wave-based delivery across 3,998 VMs in 8 months using AWS MGN, fully displacing the VMware estate.
12 AI agents shipped
Closing the Informatica gap · under 30 weeks
The Challenge
Precisely's flagship products were losing ground to Informatica's AI-embedded platform. Customers were spending excessive time on manual, repetitive data tasks.
Our Solution
12 production AI agents shipped across Lighthouse and Engage in under 30 weeks on Amazon Bedrock — executive buy-in secured through zeb's in-person Agentic AI Workshop.
4 years → 9 months
OpenText template conversion at enterprise scale
The Challenge
The CedarCX to RapidCX migration required converting tens of thousands of OpenText Exstream templates — the CCM format behind FSI banking statements, billing, and regulatory comms. Manual conversion was projected at 4 years, making migration commercially unviable.
Our Solution
zeb built an AI-powered OpenText template conversion tool on AWS as a POC — compressing the timeline from 4 years to 9 months. Precisely moved it into production and is exploring monetizing it as a commercial product.

Delivered engagements
Five engagements. One strategic arc.
From a single workshop to infrastructure migration, production AI, and a template conversion breakthrough Precisely is now productizing.
RAPID AI Workshop — origin of the Lighthouse agents
The situation
Before any agent was built, zeb ran a structured RAPID AI Workshop with Precisely — the engagement that became the genesis of the entire AI program. Executive and technical leadership from across Precisely's product lines convened in a single room to map the Agentic AI roadmap from the ground up.
What we did
Held the day after AWS Summit, capitalizing on existing momentum and executive presence. Fully mapped Precisely's end-to-end Agentic AI roadmap across both product lines in a single working session — this is where the Lighthouse agent framework was born.
The outcome
Secured executive buy-in from both Data Integrity Suite and Engage business units simultaneously. Without this workshop, zeb does not win the subsequent Lighthouse or Engage AI engagements — every dollar of AI ARR at Precisely traces back to this room.
VMCCO infrastructure migration
The situation
Broadcom's new licensing model projected a 300%+ VMware cost increase across 3,998 in-scope VMs spanning multiple business units and global regions. Precisely needed a scalable, low-risk exit — fast — with governance and security alignment throughout.
What we did
Wave-based replication and cutover using AWS MGN as the primary migration engine, backed by AWS VMCCO funding and a repeatable migration factory model. Deep dependency analysis and app-owner coordination enabled low-disruption cutovers, supported by two in-person immersion days in India and the US for architecture alignment.
The outcome
300%+ renewal cost increase avoided. 3,998 VMs successfully decommissioned from the on-premises VMware estate. $3.5M in annual recurring AWS revenue established as Precisely's long-term cloud foundation.
Agentic AI in production — Lighthouse + Engage
The situation
zeb designed and deployed a production-grade agentic AI layer across two Precisely flagship products on Amazon Bedrock. Twelve AI agents now run in production — one of the most comprehensive agentic deployments in the data management software industry.
What we did
Shipped the 8-agent Lighthouse framework for the Data Integrity Suite — foundational orchestration, auto documentation, workflow recommender, normalization, spatial enrichment, rule discovery, rule creation and conversational search — alongside 4 Engage agents for RapidCX covering template analysis, sentiment, readability and contextual rewrite. Delivery was anchored by a multi-day Agentic AI workshop and 30-week Lighthouse / 18-week Engage concurrent delivery tracks.
The outcome
AI infrastructure ARR scaling alongside adoption across both product lines and their enterprise customer bases. Public case study and video testimonial confirmed for March 2026, with a $100K case-study discount exchanged for long-term reference rights.
Govern migration assessment — first win at Precisely
The situation
The Govern Migration Assessment was the very first engagement win at Precisely — opening the door to the entire partnership. zeb and AWS evaluated the pathway to migrate Govern to a fully SaaSified AWS-hosted version (Govern V2).
What we did
Delivered the complete assessment: scope, target architecture and migration strategy for the Govern V2 AWS SaaS build. Established the commercial and technical footing for every Precisely workstream that followed.
The outcome
AWS ARR unlocks upon Precisely closing the Govern V2 deal — assessment complete, commercial close is the only remaining trigger. More importantly, this engagement established credibility and opened the door to all subsequent Precisely workstreams.
CedarCX → RapidCX migration & OpenText template AI POC
The situation
CedarCX powers Precisely's customer communications across 11 Fortune 500 FSI tenants — banking statements, regulatory disclosures, postal correspondence. Migrating to RapidCX (the AWS-native SaaSified evolution) required converting tens of thousands of OpenText Extream templates, a manual effort projected to take 4 years.
What we did
The Atlanta Workshop defined a clear migration path for all 11 enterprise tenants with tenant isolation and zero-disruption cutover. zeb then built an AI-powered OpenText template conversion tool on AWS that uses large language models to automatically parse, interpret and re-author Extream templates into the RapidCX format — preserving layout fidelity, conditional logic, data bindings and regulatory content integrity.
The outcome
A 4-year manual conversion compressed to a 9-month migration — a 5x reduction that unlocks the entire CedarCX → RapidCX program. The POC was so decisive that Precisely has moved the tool into production and is now exploring commercial monetization as a standalone offering to their FSI customer base.
Active pipeline
Two engagements. $5M in motion.
Assessments complete, momentum established. These are the AWS deals scoped, architected, and ready to close — the next chapter of the Precisely partnership.
Govern V2 — AWS SaaSified migration
The Govern Migration Assessment — our first engagement win at Precisely — has been successfully delivered. The technical pathway to Govern V2 (the fully AWS SaaSified version) is defined and ready to execute. The next step is the Precisely sales team closing the V2 commercial deal.
What's been completed
- Full migration assessment delivered and signed off
- Scope, architecture, and migration strategy defined for V2
- Govern V2 architecture aligned to AWS SaaS best practices

- Upon close: zeb + AWS to activate the migration execution workstream
- Opportunity to leverage VMCCO or migration funding for the V2 build
- Expands the AWS footprint within the Govern product line
CedarCX → RapidCX — full migration execution
The CedarCX → RapidCX migration is one of the most technically complex cloud migrations in the CCM industry. Precisely's CedarCX platform serves 11 Fortune 500-level enterprise FSI tenants — each with thousands of regulated customer communications (banking statements, billing notices, regulatory disclosures) authored in OpenText Exstream templates. The Atlanta workshop defined the path. The AI Template Conversion POC removed the single biggest blocker. The migration is now in active pipeline.
What's been unlocked
- Migration assessment and Atlanta workshop: delivered
- RapidCX AWS architecture and tenant migration strategy: defined
- OpenText template conversion AI POC: delivered and in production
- Timeline compressed from 4 years → 9 months through zeb's AI tooling
- AI Agents for Engage/RapidCX BU: live in production
Why this migration matters

Motion 03 · Migration Accelerator
AWS fundedAI-powered migrations via AWS funding programs
What it is
zeb's AI-powered migration methodology compresses multi-year migration timelines into months — proven at Precisely where 4 years of OpenText template migration became 9 months through AI tooling. Combined with AWS funding programs, this creates a fully funded, fast-path motion that removes the two biggest barriers to ISV cloud migration: time and cost.
AWS funding programs zeb activates
-
MAP
Migration Acceleration Program Cash funding to offset migration costs — zeb's factory model is purpose-built to maximize MAP eligibility across large VM estates.
-
VMCCO
VMware Cloud Customer Opportunity Targets VMware-to-AWS exits under Broadcom licensing pressure. Deployed for Precisely's 3,998-VM migration — drove $3.5M ARR.
